Little Italy in NYC may only stretch a few blocks now, but its spirit is larger than life.

It’s where generations of Italian-American families carved out space for tradition in the middle of the world’s most fast-paced city. New York is where my ancestors from Italy first came, as they passed through Ellis Island on their way to Massachusetts. It’s layered — a place where the smell of tomato sauce and the neon lights of Mulberry Street still hold stories, despite the city constantly changing around it. What I love about Little Italy isn’t just its visual charm — though the faded signage and vintage storefronts are cinematic in their own right. It’s the energy. There’s a rhythm here that fuses old-world pride with New York grit. It’s bustling, unapologetic, deeply rooted. When I’m creating in Little Italy — whether styling, shooting, or simply walking — I draw inspiration from its dual identity. It reminds me that tradition and ambition don’t have to be at odds. They can live side by side, just like they do here.
