The scent of fresh Reginas pizza, the sound of church bells, the blur of espresso cups being clinked over conversation — Boston’s North End is where Italy lives on, in all its noisy, nostalgic glory. Growing up or passing through, the North End felt like a portal back to my beloved Italy. Tightly packed streets and aged brick buildings carry the weight of history, while bakeries and cafes tucked along Hanover Street evoke the timeless rhythm of Italian life. To me, the North End is more than Boston’s Little Italy — it’s a living museum of culture and community. It’s where grandparents still speak dialects over Sunday lunch, where shopkeepers know your name, and where traditions are passed down in flavors. Once you become a part of the neighborhood, everyone excepts you with open arms. There is no where in Boston that has the sense of community quite like the North End. Whenever I shoot or create in the North End, I make sure to evoke the sense of community and character within my work. It's older and romantic in equal parts, full of texture and soul. There’s beauty in places that remember where they came from. The North End especially comes to life in August during feast season which is my favourite time of year. Look for me when you visit, Ill be around :)
